At the heart of EFI Southlake is Eddie Herrera, a seasoned professional with over 28 years of experience in the green industry. From his early days in landscape maintenance to managing high-end commercial projects, Eddie’s journey has been driven by his passion for creating healthy, sustainable landscapes.

Eddie began his career at just 18, working in landscape maintenance while attending community college, where he studied landscape pest management, irrigation principles, horticulture practices, and plant identification. His dedication to learning led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from UC, laying the foundation for a career that blends technical knowledge with practical experience.

Over the years, Eddie has held various roles in the green industry, including:  

• Supervising and designing landscape projects for a Sacramento-based company.  
• Managing garden centers at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Oklahoma, where he also became a Master Gardener through the OSU Extension.  
• Leading commercial landscape installation projects at Valley Crest, where he was trained in Continuous Improvement techniques to ensure efficiency and quality.  
• Working on high-end residential and commercial landscape projects with budgets ranging from $30K to over $1 million at Southern Botanical.  
• Serving as a hiring, retention, and training manager at Complete Landsculpture, where he also supervised projects.

Eddie’s expertise spans everything from irrigation systems and plant care to project management and team leadership. He holds a commercial applicator’s license, irrigator’s license, and is OSHA 30 certified, ensuring every project is handled with precision, safety, and attention to detail.

When Eddie founded Environmentally Focused Irrigation (EFI Southlake), his mission was simple: to provide reliable, honest irrigation services that help commercial properties thrive. His deep understanding of irrigation systems and commitment to continuous learning make EFI a trusted partner for commercial property managers looking to keep their landscapes healthy, sustainable, and water-efficient.
